JEE Advanced Result Preparation 2025

JEE Advanced 2025 result is prepared based on the candidate?s performance in both Paper 1 and Paper 2, following the official marking scheme. The process includes both subject-wise and aggregate marks calculation:

  • Subject-wise marks are calculated by adding the marks scored in that subject across both papers. For example, Physics marks are the total of the Physics section in Paper 1 and Paper 2. The same approach is applicable to both Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • To determine the aggregate marks, the total scores from all three subjects?Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics- are added together. These scores from both papers combine to give the candidate a final score out of 360.

JEE Advanced Tie- Breaking Policy 2025

When two or more candidates score the same aggregate marks in JEE Advanced 2025, a specific tie-breaking policy is used to determine their ranks. The steps followed are:

  • The candidate with a higher number of positive marks will receive a higher rank.
  • If the tie persists, the candidate with higher scores in Mathematics will be ranked higher.
  • If the tie continues, the candidate with higher marks in Physics will be given a better rank.
  • If none of these steps resolve the tie, all tied candidates will be awarded the same rank.

JEE Advanced Rank List 2025

The JEE Advanced 2025 rank lists are prepared using the total aggregate marks obtained by candidates in the examination. After the result is declared, candidates can access their category-wise All India Ranks (AIR) through the official JEE Advanced 2025 website. In addition to the online availability, candidates will also receive their rank information via text messages on their registered mobile numbers.

JEE Advanced Counselling 2025

Qualifying in JEE Advanced 2025 and participating in the choice filling or joint seat allocation process does not automatically ensure admission to the IITs. Admission depends on a candidate?s merit and the availability of seats during the various rounds of seat allocation conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2025.

JoSAA 2025, established by the Ministry of Education (formerly the Ministry of Human Resource Development), oversees and manages the joint seat allocation process for 114 institutes for the academic year 2025-26. This includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs, and 33 other technical institutions funded by the government (GFTIs). All admissions to the academic programs offered by these institutions are conducted through a single, unified platform managed by JoSAA.
