BTech is one of the most popular graduate programs among Indian students. The courses are offered by approximately 4000+ colleges in more than 100+ electives. BTech offers more than 100 specializations like CSE, Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, etc. For admission to this course, you need to clear entrance exam JEE Advance, JEE Main or the state entrance test. After clearing entrance exam, you need to clear counselling round for the admission. UP colleges accept UPTAC counselling and Maharashtra colleges conducted MHTCET counselling for BTech admission. The Cutoff of top tier colleges like IIT demands 250 score in JEE main entrance exam and 280-300 score in JEE advance for admission to this course.

Admission Process for BTech 

For admission to BTech you must take an entrance exam. Some private colleges also take direct admission as per your 12th board exam marks. But maximum colleges take admission as per your entrance exam merit. Here admission process and eligibility criteria are mentioned below step by step:

  • You need to clear your 10+2 board exam. You should have studied Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics, which are compulsory subjects in class 12 for BTech admission.
  • You need to get 60% marks in your HS board exam, this 60% marks for general category students. For SC/ST students need to get 50% marks in HS board exam. 
  • Then you need to select some top colleges for BTech. 
  • After that you need to clear respective entrance exam for BTech admission as per your colleges requirement you wish to join. 
  • After taking the entrance exam, you will be shortlisted for the counselling process. In this round you need to carry your exam certificate, photographs, identification proof for the document verification. 
  •  After counselling and document verification process, you need to pay the required fees as per your college for admission confirmation. 

BTech Eligibility Criteria 

For admission BTech you must clear your 10+2 board exam. And you need to take an entrance exam. Here eligibility criteria are mentioned based on university entrance exam wise:
