JEE MAIN: About Exam

The JEE Main 2025 season 1 exam is scheduled for January 22 to 31, 2025. The JEE Main 2025 season 2 will be held from April 1 to 8, 2025. You can apply for the JEE Main season 1 at jeemain.nta.nic.in by paying the application fees of INR 1000 for male (UR/OBC).

JEE Main is conducted by NTA for the admission to the undergraduate courses at NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs. To apply for JEE Main, you should have completed your class 12 exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. You can appear for JEE Main three consecutive years from the year of passing class 12.

The JEE Main 2025 exam pattern has changed. Previously, Section B contained 10 questions, where you have to answer only 5. According to the new exam pattern, section B of the exam will now have only five questions for every subject.

JEE Main 2025 Registration Process

JEE Main season 1 registration has already started, and the last date of registration is November 22, 2024. To apply for JEE Main 2025 January session, you have to follow the steps below:

Step 1: Visit at jeemain.nta.nic.in and select the “JEE(Main) 2025 Session-1 Registration” link.

Step 2: The application form will be already selected and provide the CAPTCHA and click on “New Registration”.

Step 3: Check the box to agree with the terms and conditions and select “Click here to Proceed”.

Step 4: Provide all the details as per class 10th and select the “Submit” button.

Step 5: Login to your account and fill up the application form with personal details.

Step 6: Upload your scanned photograph (coloured), signature, class x, or equivalent certificate/mark sheet.

Step 7: You must pay for the JEE Main 2025 application fees. You can only make the payment through online mode using net banking, credit card, debit card, and UPI.

After successful payment, you will be able to print the confirmation page. In case, the confirmation page is not generated, and the transaction is cancelled, then you should approach the concerned bank for a refund. In case the confirmation page is not general, then you must make another payment.

JEE Main 2025 Eligibility Criteria

These are the eligibility criteria and qualifications required to appear for JEE Main 2025:

Age Criteria

There is no upper age limit to appear for the JEE Main 2025. You must have completed your class XII or equivalent in 2023, 2024 or appearing in 2025. However, you may have to fulfil the age limit criteria of the institute to which you are desirous of taking admission.

List of Qualifying Examinations:

You must have one of the following qualifications to apply for JEE Main:

  • Must have completed the final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/State Board.
  • Intermediate or two-year Pre-University exam conducted by any recognized board.
  • Should have completed the final examination of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
  • Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling
  • Any Public School / Board / University exam in India or foreign is recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by AIU.
  • Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.
  • A Diploma by AICTE or any state board of technical education of minimum 3 years duration.
  • General Certificate Education exam (Cambridge/London/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
  • High School Certificate exam of Cambridge University of International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office.
  • If you have completed your class XII exam outside India or from a board that is not specified in the notification, then you must produce a certificate from AIU.
  • If the class XII exam is not a public examination, then you must have passed at least one public examination earlier.

JEE Main 2025 Admit Card

JEE Main 2025 admit card will be issued provisionally through the official website of NTA. You can download your admit card through the official JEE Main website. You will appear in the JEE Main at the given centre on the date and shift/timing as mentioned in your admit card. By any chance, if you were unable to download your admit card, then you should approach the NTA helpline number at 011-40759000 between 10.00 A.M. to 05.00 P.M. If you see any discrepancy between your photograph and signature on the admit card, read out the NTA helpline.

JEE Main 2025 Answer Key

The NTA will release the provisional answer key on their official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in. You can challenge the provisional answer keys with a non-refundable online payment of INR 200 per question. The JEE Main provisional answer key will be displayed for two to three days.

JEE Main 2025 Result

The JEE Main 2025 season 1 result will be released by February 12, 2025. NTA will release the scorecard on their official website at jeemain.nta.ac.in. To download your JEE Main scorecard, you have to login to your account.

JEE Main 2025 Selection Process

After the JEE Main, you must participate in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process. JEE Main 2025 Preparation Tips

JEE Main 2025 exam syllabus is quite similar to the NCERT books of class 11 and 12. Solving the previous year's questions of JEE Main could be a great start for your JEE Main 2025 preparation. By solving the previous year's questions, you will get an idea about which chapters are given weightage in question papers. Here are some important tips to prepare for your JEE Main 2025:

  • You should make a habit of studying every day. It will help you to concentrate on your study without being distracted.
  • It is important to understand the concepts, rather than memorize them. It will help you to identify the concepts behind the numerical problems.

FAQ - JEE MAIN

Ans: For the JEE Main 2025, you will be allowed for up to three consecutive attempts. There is no upper age limit for appearing for this exam in 2025. However, you must have completed you class 12 exam in 2023, 2024, or 2025.

Ans: The NTA is responsible for inviting online applications, the management entrance exam, and providing the JoSSA and CSAB with the test results. 

Ans: You must fill out a separate application form for every session and pay the required fees. You cannot apply for both sessions of JEE Main at the same time.
