Is CSE Still Available in VITEEE Phase 4 Counselling 2026?

The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has initiated the operational phase for VITEEE 2026 Phase IV Counselling. This specific round is open exclusively to candidates who secured a VITEEE rank between 70,001 and 1,00,000.

As candidates prepare for the crucial choice-filling window, the primary query among engineering aspirants remains: Can I still get Computer Science Engineering (CSE) in Phase 4?

According to trends and expert evaluations of the previous three counseling phases, the seat matrix for core branches has shrunk considerably. Below is the detailed campus-wise breakdown of CSE seat availability across Categories 1 to 5.

VIT Campus-Wise CSE Seat Availability Status

Check whether the VIT campuses are still offering seats or not:

VIT Vellore & VIT Chennai Campuses

Core CSE Availability: Nil
CSE Specializations: Nil
Status Summary: Seats across all operational fee tiers (Category 1 through Category 5) for Computer Science Engineering and its associated specializations (AI, ML, Data Science, Cyber Security, etc.) are completely exhausted at both the Vellore and Chennai campuses. Candidates tracking these campuses will need to look at alternative engineering streams.

VIT AP Campus

Category 1 & 2: Completely Filled
Category 3: Extremely Low Probability
Category 4 & 5: Seats Available
Status Summary: Lower fee categories (1 and 2) are closed for CSE Core and specializations. However, candidates willing to opt for higher fee brackets (Category 4 and Category 5) still stand a realistic chance of securing a CSE seat at the Andhra Pradesh campus.

VIT Bhopal Campus

Category 1 to 5: Seats Available
Status Summary: The Bhopal campus presents the highest probability for Phase 4 applicants. Seats for core CSE and various specialized tracks remain open across all fee structures, ranging from Category 1 to Category 5.

Strategy for VIT Phase 4 Choice-Filling

Given the severe seat shortage in premier campuses, candidates must design their preference lists logically rather than filling choices blindly.

Complete Fee Clearance: Pay your counseling participation fee via the student portal before the June 6 cutoff to avoid getting blocked from choice-filling.
Prioritize Bhopal and AP for CSE: Focus your choices on VIT Bhopal (Categories 1–5) and VIT AP (Categories 4–5). Do not list Vellore or Chennai for CSE, as their seats are completely full.
Mix Categories & Branches: Maximize your allotment chances for June 10 by locking in both Category 4 and 5 choices at VIT AP, or consider alternative high-demand branches like ECE.

If you miss the June 8 choice-filling deadline, the portal locks automatically. Unallocated ranks will be pushed into subsequent processing phases where seat availability diminishes further.
