MAT: About Exam

The Management Aptitude Test (MAT), conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA), is a national level exam for the candidates who are planning to take admission at various MBA and PGDM programs across India. It conducts in mainly four sessions : February, May, September and December. Almost 800 institutes all over India accept MAT scores. Candidates according to their preferences can take the admission in three modes: Paper - Based Test (PBT), Computer - Based Test (CBT) and Remotely Proctored Test (IBT).

Management Aptitude Test is a National - level management aptitude entrance exam for the aspiring students who are seeking admission in  various management courses like PGPM, MBA, PGDM and others offered by various Business schools. 

 

About Management Aptitude Test (MAT) 

The Total number of questions in the CAT exam is 200. 

The question paper is divided into  five sections : Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Indian and Global Environment, Data Analysis and Sufficiency and Intelligence and Critical Reasoning.  The exam is 2.5 hours long. Each correct answer consists of 1 mark and for every incorrect answer 0.25 marks will be deducted. The mode of language of the MAT exam is English. 

 Nationality : No bar (People staying outside India can only apply for Internet Based Test)

 Number of Attempts : No bar

 Frequency :  Four times a Year

 Month : February, May - June, September, December

 Language : English

Total Number of Questions - 200 Questions.

  • Each section consists 40 Questions.

 

Total Marks - 200 marks.

Exam Timings - 150 minutes(2.5 hours).

Types of Questions - Multiple Choice Questions.

 

Marking Process of MAT Exam

  •  Questions consists one mark each.
  • One mark, for each correct mcq question.
  •  - 0.25 mark, for each incorrect mcq question.
  •  No answer no Marks.

 

Score Validity - 1 year.

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is one of the most prestigious management exams in India. Since 1988 various Business Schools have used this exam for admission to MBA and other management programs. Here are some tentative dates of the 2024 MAT examination.

     Slot 1 : 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

What is the Application Fee of  Management Aptitude Test (MAT) ?

 

  • For one MAT exam the charges will be INR 2100.
  • If a candidate wants to combine two more attempts, Then they have to add INR 1200/- extra , then the charges will be INR 3300/- .
