GMAT or Graduate Management Aptitude Test, is an entrance exam for graduates to evaluate their business aptitude. This exam has been conducted by GMAC for more than 50 years and assesses significant problem-solving, communication, and strategic thinking skills in the latest GMAT 11th Edition. The GMAT syllabus consists of mainly three sections, that is QR, VR, and DI. The GMAT exam is taken by many candidates not just aspiring for an MBA abroad, but also for courses like MIM, MS in Management, and other business-related courses.

You can take the GMAT 2025 exam from the comfort of your home and at an exam centre. The application fee in India is USD 275 for the GMAT at a test centre, whereas USD 200 is charged for taking the GMAT exam on the exam date. The GMAT 11th Edition is a 2-hour and 15-minute-long examination and is a more flexible, effective, and condensed exam format as compared to the previous version.

GMAT 2025 Exam Dates

GMAT exam dates are available year-round. The availability of exam dates is subject to availability of the test centre in a particular location. So, you are allowed to select any date according to your convenience and availability. GMAC provides flexibility for applicants taking the exam once or twice. However, certain rules come with it.

  • If you want to retake the GMAT exam, then you can do so after 16 calendar days. You can retake the exam after every 16 calendar days.
  • You can appear for the GMAT exam 5 times a year and 8 times in a lifetime. It will be a wise choice, to register for the exam two to three months before the scheduled date.
  • If you wish to apply for the GMAT focus edition, can opt for dates based on your geographic location and test centre. Through the GMAT Focus dates are available all year round, dates may vary on a month-on-month basis.
  • In case, you miss the exam appointment, you can reschedule the exam date without waiting for 16 days. However, there will be a 24-hour waiting period, plus you must pay the full registration fee.

GMAT Eligibility Criteria 2025

GMAC does not specify any specific GMAT eligibility criteria for appearing for GMAT 2025. If you want to apply for the post-graduate level business courses like MBA, MIM or M.Sc. in business management, your GMAT score will be accepted for admission.

So, there is no educational degree requirement is required while registering for the exam. But if you can ask when and from where you will complete your graduation and the course.

  • You should have completed 18 years of age and there are no upper age limit criteria to appear for the exam.
  • If the candidate is between 13 to 17 years of age, then they must have permission from their parents or legal guardian.
  • GMAC has not announced any official notification related to the qualifications as per GMAT eligibility.

There is no need for the work experience required to appear for the GMAT 2025. However, you will be asked about your work experience level while registering.

GMAT 2025 Registration

As per the GMAC, you can do the GMAT registration 6 months before the exam date or a maximum of 24 hours before the exam. You can plan your exam and book your exam slot. Registering early allows ample time to retake the GMAT if your initial score is unsatisfactory. It's advisable to take the exam about three to four weeks before application deadlines, ensuring enough time for a retake if needed and the opportunity to apply to additional schools where admission chances may be higher.

GMAT Exam Registration Process

GMAT exam is an online entrance test, and its registration process is also entirely online. The first step in the process is creating a GMAT profile. The following steps can show you GMAT 2025 registration process:

  1. Create a Profile: Visit the official GMAT website, @MBA.com and create your exam profile.
  2. Set Login Credentials: Establish your username and password for secure access.
  3. Optional Preferences: GMAC may ask if you'd like to receive information about financial aid, recruitment procedures, and promotions. This step is optional for candidates to provide information about.
  4. College Applications: Candidates can apply to colleges through the GMASS network during registration.
  5. Provide Personal Information: Enter details such as your name, email address, phone number, language preference, and mailing address.
  6. Complete Profile Details: Fill in additional information like your date of birth, gender, native language, work experience, undergraduate program, and career aspirations. Colleges affiliated with GMASS may use this information to contact you.
  7. Finalize Your Profile: After completing these steps, your MBA profile will be created, and you'll be ready to proceed with the GMAT exam registration.

GMAT Exam 2025 Slot Booking

To secure the preferred time slot and test centre, candidates should book their GMAT test at least one to two months in advance. With the growing number of applicants, early booking is essential. Those planning to apply in November should consider reserving their slot three to six months ahead. Additionally, candidates should factor in the time needed to prepare their application documents when planning their test date.

GMAT 2025 Admit Card

GMAT admit card 2025 will be released in online mode at the official website. To appear for the exam, you must have to download the admit card from the MBA.com. You should know that the authority will not send you any physical copy of your admit card by post. Remember to verify all the information that GMAT admit card will contain such as your name, exam date and time, roll number, exam instructions, etc. You should keep your admit card safe as it will be required at the time of counselling.

There will be a total of 64 questions in the GMAT 2025 exam paper. The questions are equally marked and in the MCQ format. There is no writing or essay section in the GMAT focus edition. You can avail of two optional eight-minute breaks during the examination.

GMAT Score 2025

You must be scored on a scale of 205 – 805 on the GMAT examination. The scores are based on each of the three sections of GMAT are scored equally that is between 60 – 90. The reason for an upgraded score range on GMAT is for B-schools and applicants to distinguish between GMAT Focus Edition and GMAT scores. GMAT Result 2025

GMAC provides the unofficial scores of GMAT after completing the examination. Once you accept your scores, GMAC will release your official scorecard within 3 to 5 days from the exam. In some cases, it takes around 20 days to get your official scorecard. Once the candidate's official scores are ready, you will be notified through an email. You can log in to your GMAT account to download the GMAT result 2025. The GMAT score will be valid for five years from the date of announcement. You can send your scores to up to five schools for free. If you want to send your GMAT scores to additional schools, you must pay a fee of $35 for each score report.

FAQ - GMAT

Ans: The GMAT Focus Edition was introduced in 2024 to replace the traditional GMAT exam.  GMAT Focus Edition has a shorter duration of 2 hours and 15 minutes. It includes three sections: Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Data Insights. In contrast, the previous GMAT had four sections, including Integrated Reasoning and Analytical Writing, and lasted 3 hours and 7 minutes.

Ans: The new GMAT focus edition has only three sections QR, VR and DI with the duration of 45 minutes for each section, with the total exam duration of 2 hours 15 minutes. It has discontinued the Integrated Reasoning and Analytical Writing which was part of the GMAT exams prior to 2024.

Ans: The GMAT 2025 application is available throughout the year. You can select your registration period according to the college application schedule.  

Ans: You can appear for the GMAT 2025 five times during a rolling 12-month period and eight times total in your lifetime. 

Ans: Yes, you will be able to reschedule your GMAT exam by logging into your account. However, there will be a fee for rescheduling your exam. 

Ans: Many B-schools accept both exam scores, but the GMAT remains the preferred test for MBA admission. The GMAT exam is designed to evaluate the skills required for the MBA programs.

Ans: Work experience is not necessary for the GMAT exam. However, various top MBA courses are preferred or require work experience from applicants.
