Frequently Asked Questions
Ans: The MAT exam consists of 200 multiple-choice questions divided into five sections: Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis & Sufficiency, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, and Indian & Global Environment. Questions cover topics such as reading comprehension, grammar, arithmetic, algebra, geometry, data interpretation, logical reasoning, puzzles, and general awareness on national and international issues. Each question consists of four options, with one correct answer.
Ans: The overall difficulty level of the MAT exam is considered moderate compared to other MBA entrance exams like CAT or XAT. While sections such as Mathematical Skills and Data Analysis & Sufficiency can be slightly time-consuming, the Language Comprehension and Reasoning sections are generally manageable. The Indian & Global Environment section is not counted in the composite score, making it less challenging in terms of scoring.
Ans: Cracking the MAT in one month requires a focused strategy. Candidates should prioritize high-weightage sections such as - Mathematical Skills and Data Analysis, while practicing reading comprehension and reasoning regularly. Daily mock tests and previous year papers help improving speed and accuracy. Allocating 2–3 hours for quantitative aptitude, 1–2 hours for reasoning and language, and quick revision of current affairs for general awareness is effective. Consistent practice and time management are keys to maximizing scores in a short preparation period.
