WBJEE 2026 Defence Quota Offline Counselling (Aug 18): Check Venue, Seat Matrix & Guidelines

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has officially announced the schedule for the WBJEE 2026 Defence Quota counselling session. As per the official notification published on wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee, the counselling will take place offline on August 18, 2026.

A total of 105 candidates shortlisted by the Rajya Sainik Board under the Home Department are eligible to participate. Applicants who have not previously registered for WBJEE 2026 counselling must pay a registration fee of INR 500 in cash directly at the venue. Physical attendance is mandatory for all shortlisted candidates on the scheduled day, along with their required verification documents. Seat allotment will be conducted strictly based on General Merit Ranks (GMR). Significantly, the board has clarified that state domicile criteria will not be required to claim Defence Quota seat reservations across participating institutions, offering a major relaxation for eligible applicants.

A total of 13 engineering seats are reserved under the Defence Quota across the state's top institutions. Out of these, 11 seats are allocated across various disciplines in Government Engineering and Technology Colleges, while the remaining 2 seats are reserved at Jadavpur University. WBJEE 2026 Candidates must bring all original certificates alongside one set of self-attested photocopies to the counselling venue for document verification:

WBJEE 2026 Rank Card (Official scorecard)
Age Proof Document (Class 10th Admit Card, Birth Certificate, or School Leaving Certificate)
Class 12 (10+2) Mark Sheet
Recent Colored Photograph (Passport size)
WBJEE 2026 Seat Allotment Letter (applicable only for previously registered candidates who received a seat allocation)
Rajya Sainik Board Recommendation / Defence Quota Certificate (verifying eligibility under the shortlisted 105 candidates)

WBJEE 2026 Offline Defence Quota Counselling: Time & Venue

Eligible candidates must report physically for the WBJEE 2026 Defence Quota seat allotment process as per the schedule detailed below:

Reporting Date & Time: 18th August 2026, starting at 12:30 PM.
Counselling Location: Office of the WBJEE Board, "RUPANNA", DB-118, Sector-I, Salt Lake City, Kolkata – 700064.
Landmark: Situated near DB Park, directly opposite Bidhannagar College.
