The NIRF Engineering Ranking 2025 has been released, providing a comprehensive list of top private engineering colleges in India. BITS Pilani has been named the top private engineering college this year. The rankings are given below.
The Ministry of Education (MoE) has released the NIRF 2025 rankings, evaluating universities and institutions across 16 categories based on new, stricter rules and additional parameters set by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). This year, institutions will also face negative marking for retracting research papers or removing citations. The NIRF Engineering Ranking 2025 is based on five key parameters:
- Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR)
- Research and Professional Practice (RP)
- Graduation Outcomes (GO)
- Outreach and Inclusivity (OI)
- Peer Perception
In the NIRF Ranking 2025 for Engineering, Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani has been ranked top among the private engineering colleges, improving its rank from 20 to 11 nationally. It is followed by the SRM Institute of Science and Technology and Vellore Institute of Technology as the other top private engineering institutions.
