How are NIRF Scores Assigned to Institutions?

NIRF evaluates institutions using a score-based system across five key parameters, Teaching & Learning, Research, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach & Inclusivity, and Perception. Each parameter has a fixed weightage, and institutions receive raw scores for specific metrics like placements, research output, and student diversity. These scores are then normalized on a scale of 0 to 100 to ensure fairness across institutions of varying sizes. Finally, to calculate the overall NIRF score the weighted scores are added. Institutions are ranked in descending order based on this final score, determining their position in the national rankings.
