The NIRF Ranking 2025 for law colleges has been released by the MoE. NLSIU Bangalore ranked first with NLU New Delhi, and NALSAR University of Law Hyderabad, following in second and third place, respectively. NLSIU Bangalore and NLU Delhi continued to be the leading rankers between the law institutions.

The NIRF, approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) in 2015, assesses institutions based on several key criteria: TLR, RPC, GO, OI and Perception. Discipline-specific rankings, including for law, were introduced in 2017.

As a result of this ranking system, the 24 National Law Universities (NLUs) consistently rank among India's best law colleges. Several prominent private institutions, such as Symbiosis Law School (SLS), Pune; ILS Law College, Pune; UPES School of Law, Dehradun and Christ University Law College, Bengaluru also hold strong positions in the NIRF Law Rankings.
