Analysts suggest that seven of these questions are likely to be dropped entirely, resulting in bonus marks for affected JEE Main 2026 students. As per official NTA policy, if a question is found to be flawed or is removed from the evaluation, every candidate who appeared for that specific shift will be awarded four bonus marks (+4).

The significant errors have been flagged in the January 28 morning shift (Nuclear Physics) and evening shift (Electrochemistry), as well as the January 23 exam (Newton’s Laws of Motion and Error & Measurement). Additionally, a Wave Optics question from the January 22 evening shift is under heavy scrutiny, with many students demanding bonus marks for that section as well.
