UCEED Result 2026 Tie-Breaker

In case of a tie in total marks, the candidate with a higher score in Part B will be given a better rank in UCEED 2026. When candidates have the same score, a set of rules is applied to rank them fairly.

The candidate with a higher Part B score is ranked above others with the same total marks.
If Part B scores are tied, the candidate with a higher score in Section 2 of Part A will be ranked above the others.
If scores in Part B and Section 2 of Part A are the same, the candidate with a higher score in Section 1 of Part A will be ranked higher.
If the applicants are still tied after checking all these, they will receive the same rank.

How is the Total UCEED 2026 Score Calculated?

Your final UCEED 2026 score will be the combined total of marks obtained in both Part A and Part B of the exam. This aggregate score will serve as the basis for determining the candidate's result and ranking. As part of the UCEED 2026 results, IIT Bombay will release an official rank list based on candidates- final scores. Candidates are ranked based on the total marks they secure in the UCEED 2026 exam. Those who meet the required cutoff can check their provisional rank in each category on the official results website. Only candidates who meet the sectional cutoffs and the overall qualifying marks will be featured in the rank list. Candidates will be eligible for the UCEED 2026 rank list only if they surpass the minimum marks in each section and the overall cutoff. The minimum scores vary for different categories (such as General, OBC, SC, ST, etc.), and details will be provided in a table along with the results. Only those who meet these criteria will be included in the final ranking.

UCEED Evaluation Criteria 2026

The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB) will handle the evaluation for the UCEED 2026 exam, which includes two parts: Part A and Part B. Part A contains different types of multiple-choice questions, such as numerical answer type (NAT), multiple-select questions (MSQ), and single-choice questions (MCQ). Part B focuses on drawing and sketching tasks. Here are the evaluation criteria for the UCEED 2026 marks:

Part A of the UCEED 2026 exam will be held in computer-based mode at designated test centers. Once the exam is completed, you cannot review, re-grade, or recalculate your Part A marks. There is no option to request a re-evaluation or recounting of marks, and no such requests will be accepted under any circumstances.
Part B of UCEED 2026 will consist of two descriptive questions, one on sketching and one on design aptitude, which will be manually evaluated by experts. Unlike other sections, there will be no model answers provided for these questions. This part includes a subjective section, which will be assessed based on the criteria mentioned in the paper. The evaluation will focus on the overall quality of the responses, considering the guidelines given in the questions. Experts will review the answers holistically, taking into account the creativity, clarity, and relevance of the responses.
During the shortlisting process for UCEED 2026, only the marks secured in Part A will be taken into account.
If a candidate isn't shortlisted based on their Part A score, their Part B responses will not be evaluated.
Only candidates who make it to the shortlist will be awarded ranks in UCEED 2026.

What After the UCEED Result 2026?

After the UCEED results 2026 are announced, students who qualify will need to participate in the counselling process to secure admission into the B.Des program. Eligible candidates must complete the registration process and list their preferred institutes in order of priority during the counselling phase. The seat allotment process will happen in three rounds, where seats will be assigned based on the student's rank in the UCEED 2026 exam and the choices they made during the selection stage. This ensures that candidates get seats in their preferred institutes according to their merit and preferences.

Release of UCEED Merit List 2026

The UCEED 2026 merit list will feature the names of candidates who have secured admission to institutions that accept UCEED scores or ranks for their design programs. This merit list will be published once the seat allocation rounds are completed and all admissions are finalized. Each year, IIT Bombay releases three primary merit lists for UCEED, followed by supplementary lists after seat allocation rounds. Additionally, they release four supplementary lists to fill any remaining seats. These additional lists help ensure all available spots are filled.
