Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT),The national MBA entrance exam, known as the XAT, is administered by the Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI),Jamshedpur, to provide admission to the  various MBA and PGDM programs across India. More than 160 B - schools all over India accept XAT ranks. The Human Resource(HR) course at XLRI, Jamshedpur is the college's flagship program, and is regarded as one of the greatest HR courses in Asia.

The Xavier Aptitude Test is conducted by the XLRI, Jamshedpur on behalf of XAMI (Xavier Association of Management Institutes). 

Highlights of XAT Examination

Xavier Aptitude Test is a national - level management aptitude entrance exam for the aspiring students who are seeking admission in  various management courses like MBA, PGDM and others offered by Managements colleges like XLRI, XAMI taken institutes and others across India. 

 

About Xavier Aptitude Test  (XAT) 

For the last 70 years XLRI, Jamshedpur administers the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) on behalf of XAMI for admission to PGDM and MBA programs. XAT is offered in online computer - based testing mode and the language of the exam is English. The question paper is divided into three parts. Part 1 covers Verbal and Logical Ability, Decision Making, and Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation (allotted time - 175 minutes). Mock keyboard testing is covered in Part 2 (allotted time - 5 minutes).  The last part of the question paper will have questions from General Knowledge and Essay Writing (allotted time - 30 minutes). For each correct response, students will get one mark and for each incorrect answer 0.25 points will be subtracted.

 Total Number of Questions - 101 Questions and One Essay Writing.

  • Decision Making - 22 Questions.
  • Verbal And Logical Ability -  26 Questions. 
  • Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation -  28 Questions. 
  • General Knowledge - 25 Questions. 
  • Essay Writing - Out of 3 topics Candidates have to write one (250 words) (only evaluated if the Candidate get shortlisted for GD-PI round).

Types of Questions - Multiple Choice Questions.

 

Marking Process of XAT Exam

  • Questions consists one mark each.
  • One mark, for each correct question.
  • - 0.25 marks, for each incorrect question.
  •  - 0.10 marks, if more than 8 attempted questions in a row.
  • No answer no Marks.
  • No Negative Marking for GK Section.

 

Score Validity - 1 year.

XAT Exam 2024 (Tentative) 

The official authorities of XAT entrance examination 2024 have already published the dates. Every year, a wide number of candidates for management admission take this examination. 

According to the official dates, the XAT 2024 exam will be conducted on January 7th, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Other necessary dates regarding XAT, 2024  examination is listed below -
