CAT 2026 admit cards will be available for download from Nov 4, 2026, ahead of the Nov 29 exam.

CAT Result 2025 was declared by IIM Kozhikode on December 24, 2025, on the official website iimcat.ac.in, concluding the selection process for over two lakh management aspirants across India. The exam was conducted on November 30, 2025, and the results were released within 24 days, reflecting a streamlined evaluation process this year.

In CAT 2025, around 2.58 lakh candidates appeared for the examination, which was nearly 35,000 fewer than last year. The gender-wise data shows a higher participation of male candidates (about 1.61 lakh) compared to female candidates (around 0.97 lakh), along with a small number of transgender candidates. This trend continues the historical gender imbalance seen in CAT participation.

From an academic perspective, CAT 2025 witnessed better performance from non-engineering candidates than engineering candidates. There was a notable presence of commerce, humanities, and science graduates among the CAT Toppers 2025, highlighting growing academic diversity in IIM admissions.

How to Download the CAT Result 2025?

CAT result 2025 will be available for download on the official IIM CAT website. You can check your scores and access the CAT scorecard by logging in with your CAT 2025 credentials. To download the CAT 2025 result PDF or to check the result online, simply follow the steps provided below:

Visit the official CAT website at iimcat.ac.in.
Click on 'Registered Candidate Login' and provide the credentials.

How is the CAT Percentile Calculated?

As per the CAT exam pattern followed over the years, you will get three marks for every correct answer. For each incorrect answer in MCQ-type questions, one mark is deducted. However, in the case of non-MCQ questions, there is no negative marking for wrong attempts.

Each candidate's performance is evaluated individually for every section, and the overall score is then calculated by adding up the marks obtained across all sections.
After calculating the section-wise and overall raw scores, the results are normalized to generate the scaled CAT score.
The normalized scores are transformed into percentiles, and these percentiles are then displayed on the CAT 2025 scorecard.

CAT Normalization Process 2025

Since the CAT exam is held across multiple slots, a normalization method is applied to ensure fairness. Through this process, the marks of each candidate are scaled so that the evaluation remains equitable. What After the CAT Result 2025?

Once the CAT 2025 results are announced, many qualified candidates often wonder about the next steps. Those who achieve the minimum cutoff score will be notified by the respective IIMs regarding the upcoming selection rounds. Each institute communicates with shortlisted candidates by sending interview invitations either through email or via registered/speed post. It is important to note that the shortlisting criteria differ from one IIM to another.

Typically, the IIMs conduct a multi-stage selection process that involves the Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI) rounds. For the newer IIMs, a unified system known as the Common Admission Process (CAP) is followed.
