WBJEEB has mandated that all ST, SC, and OBC category candidates must submit their valid certificates through official portal, wbjeeb.nic.in, as a mandatory verification step prior to the declaration of results.

WBJEE result 2025 declaration has been postponed due to a directive from the Calcutta High Court. The court has ordered the board to issue a revised merit list by August 22, 2025. This is to ensure compliance with OBC reservation rules.
The delay in WBJEE result 2025 comes from a court ruling that found the initial merit list did not follow OBC reservation guidelines. The court has instructed the WBJEE Board to fix this issue by preparing a list that meets constitutional requirements within 15 days. The board's registrar and a senior higher-education official must submit sworn statements to confirm they are following the order.
According to the court instructions, eligible SC, ST, and OBC candidates need to upload their valid caste certificates through official WBJEEB portal by 11:59 PM on August 21, 2025, to be included in the revised merit list of OBC reservation.
The ongoing delay in declaring WBJEE 2025 result has led to a strong public reaction. A major political group has given an ultimatum for immediate publication of the result. At the same time, a student organization held protests outside the state education office, resulting in several arrests.
The extended uncertainty about the result of WBJEE exam 2025 has caused considerable anxiety among test takers. Many are now actively looking for alternative admission options at institutions outside the state and at private colleges. This trend raises serious concerns about the potential loss of academic talent and major disruptions to the current educational timeline for the academic year.
