WBJEEB mandates category certificate submission for ST, SC, OBC categories to official portal, wbjeeb.nic.in. This directive is a crucial step for verification process.

The category certificate submission window for WBJEE result 2025 is now officially open. As per the board's directive, eligible candidates have a limited period to complete this requirement. The portal started accepting documents uploads from August 18, 2025, and will close promptly at 11:59 PM on August 21, 2025. Adherence to this deadline is mandatory for all SC, ST, and OBC candidates to ensure their community certificate is verified.

This directive from the board follows a recent order issued by the Calcutta High Court on August 07, 2025. The court instructed WBJEEB to prepare and publish a revised merit list after determining that the previously released list did not properly adhere to the mandated regulations concerning reservations for OBC categories. This upload process is a direct result of that judicial instruction.

In his ruling, Justice Kausik Chanda mandated a precise 7% reservation for 66 specific OBC classes officially recognized by the state prior to 2010. The court's order further stipulated that the board must complete the entire recalibration process, including issuing a revised merit list, within a strict 15-day timeframe from the date of the judgment.

WBJEE 2025 examination was successfully conducted across the state on April 27, 2025, in two distinct shifts. Chairperson Sonali Chakraborty Banerjee had previously confirmed that WBJEE result 2025 were scheduled for declaration on August 07, 2025. This timeline preceded the recent judicial intervention that has necessitated a review of the result and subsequent merit list.

In a sudden and decisive move, the WBMCC has indefinitely postponed the ongoing NEET UG 2025 round 1 counselling for MBBS and BDS admissions. This decision, declared just two days prior to the anticipated seat allotment results, has created considerable uncertainty for over 11,000 medical aspirants awaiting their admissions fate. The process is suspended until further notice.

The WBMCC issued this urgent public notice on Monday. This decision brings the entire procedure to an immediate and unexpected stop, just one day before the anticipated announcement of seat allotments. This unexpected suspension was triggered by the recent release of a revised merit list for 85% state quota seats on August 16, 2025, indicating a direct correlation between the two events and the need for further administrative review.
