The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has announced a revision of SSLC examination fees for 2025–26 academic year, implementing a government-authorised annual increase of 5%.

Under the new fee structure first-time regular school students and private candidates will now pay INR 710, up from INR 676. For new private candidates, the registration and application fees have been revised from INR 236 to INR 248, while those renewing their registration will pay INR 72 instead of INR 69. Additionally, repeater candidates will face subject-based fee changes: INR 471 for one subject, INR 559 for two subjects, and INR 752 for three or more subjects.

This fee adjustment is intended to streamline administrative costs and maintain the quality of examination processes, and all students and private candidates are advised to take note of these changes and complete their registration promptly.

Though officials cite rising administrative costs, the fee hike is criticized by parents and rights groups for burdening students from economically weaker sections, with no current clarification on potential fee exemptions for the underprivileged.
