To enhance security for the JEE Main exam, NTA has introduced a mandatory live photo capture and facial recognition system at exam centers. Check out our advisory for students below.

The JEE (Main) 2026 introduces several critical updates to the examination day protocol. The most notable protocol requiring candidates who did not register using Aadhaar to report to the centre at least one hour before the gate closing time for mandatory biometric recording. To ensure a smooth entry, all other candidates must verify that their Aadhaar biometric authentication is not locked on the day of the exam, as this is now essential for the real-time verification process at the designated centres.
You must carry a clear, preferably color printout of JEE Main 2026 admit card on A4 paper, two passport-sized photographs, and an original valid photo ID matching the application. Any candidate taking a bio-break during the exam must undergo the full frisking and biometric process again before re-entering the hall. Procedural compliance is now tied directly to evaluation, as failing to drop both your rough sheets and your duly filled-in admit card into the designated dropboxes before exiting the examination room may result in your answers not being evaluated at all.
