The Punjab and Haryana High Court has ruled against the National Testing Agency (NTA), directing it to revise the CUET PG 2025 answer key for the Political Science paper and award new marks. This decision follows a petition from a student who successfully challenged an incorrect answer in the provisional key. The court criticized the NTA for taking a "hyper-technical" view, which resulted in an unfair denial of marks.

This hearing may have significant consequences, potentially forcing the NTA to re-evaluate the scores of thousands of students and revise merit ranks. The timing is particularly sensitive, as universities like Delhi University and JNU have already started their admissions processes based on the original scores. University admission authorities are now advised to wait for final directions from the NTA regarding updated scorecards and revised merit lists, which could lead to delays in the academic session for some postgraduate courses.

Candidates should closely monitor the official CUET PG and NTA websites, exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-PG/ and nta.ac.in for updates on their re-evaluated scores and revised merit lists. This is the second time in two months that a high court has intervened in CUET-related admissions.
