SBM NMIMS, Mumbai, is established by the public charitable trust Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) in 1981. It offers diploma and master’s programs in management and is the first institute in Mumbai to receive AICTE approval for its PGDM program. The institute holds an A++ grade from NAAC and has secured AACSB accreditation for the second time in a row, becoming the first B-school in Western India with this recognition.  
SBM NMIMS offers diploma, MBA, and Ph.D. programs. For the MBA program, candidates need a bachelor’s degree in any field with at least 50% marks. The selection process includes a computer-based Written Analytical Test (WAT), the WATSON Test, and a Personal Interview (PI).

SBM NMIMS Mumbai records strong MBA Core placements in 2024. The average package is INR 25.13 LPA, and the highest is INR 67.70 LPA. A total of 168 companies take part, including 72 new recruiters and 68 Fortune 500 firms.
