Central Scheme Scholarships

This grant is funded by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, National Fellowship and offered to the UG, PG students from ST categories. Other than this there are grants under this category such as, Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships for College and University Students(for UG Students)- funded by MHRD, Department of Higher Education, Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme for RPF (Railway Protection Force)/RPSF (Railway Protection Special Force)(for UG Students)- by Ministry of Railways, Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles(for UG Students)- by WARB, Ministry of Home Affairs, Merit-cum-Means based Scholarship for students belonging to the Minority Communities to pursue professional and technical courses(for UG/PG Students)- by Ministry of Minority Affairs.

UGC Scheme Scholarship

Eligible candidates from the domicile of NER, and the parental income should be less than INR 4.50 lakh per annum. The special scholarship is of INR 5,400 per annum and the for the general degree course the amount is INR 7,800 per annum for paramedical/ professional/ medical/ technical courses.

Institute Scheme Scholarship

The Indian Institute of Technology Patna offers this merit cum means grant to the needy and meritorious students. An eligible UG student or a two-year MSc program candidate can get this grant. OBC and general category students can get INR 1000 per month for 2 semesters and they get tuition fee waiver. SC and ST students get pocket allowance of INR 250 per month, other than that hostel room rent and mess charges. The parental income should be less than INR 4.50 lakh.

Academic Excellence Awards/ Donor Scholarships

The scholarship name is Shri Kedar Nath Das Memorial Award, and the prize amount is INR 10,000. There is another grant named, Shri Jagdish Nath Tripathi Memorial Scholarship and the rate is INR 30,000.
