In a new convenience measure, SSC is introducing a self-slot selection facility, allowing you to choose for the Tier 1 preferred city, date and shift of CHSL 2025 examination. The official portal for this self-slot selection will be accessible from October 22 to 28, 2025.
SSC CHSL Tier 1 Self-Slot Selection: Application Process & Guidelines
The steps to apply for the SSC CHSL Tier 1 self-slot selection facility are given below:
- Step 1: Visit the official Staff Selection Commission (SSC) candidate portal.
- Step 2: Use your registration credentials to log in to your account.
- Step 3: The system will display the available exam slots, showing different dates and shifts based on the three cities you initially selected in your application form.
- Step 4: Choose your preferred city, date, and shift from the available options and click on the submit button.
- Step 5: Save the final selection details.
Key Guidelines on Slot Availability
- If all available slots in the three cities you initially chose are already filled, the portal will present a list of alternative cities with available slots.
- You must select one of these optional cities.
- In this instance, the Commission will assign a slot on a "best effort basis" and you will not be given the choice to select a specific date or shift.

If you do not utilize the self-slot selection facility within the specified timeframe, the SSC will presume that you are unwilling to appear for the CHSLE 2025 examination.
To aid candidates with the slot selection process, the SSC will provide a self-explanatory guidance document on the official candidate portal. This document will contain detailed instructions and necessary screenshots.
