NEET PG is the essential entrance exam for MD, MS, and PG Diploma programs nationwide. The CBT will be 3 hours and 30 minutes long, with 200 English MCQs.

NEET PG 2025 exam, which was initially planned for June 15, has been postponed, National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences stated Monday, June 2. This decision comes directly from a Supreme Court order issued on May 30, which mandated that the exam be conducted in a single shift, emphasizing the need for "complete transparency" and "secure centres" to ensure fairness.
The Supreme Court's ruling, made by a bench headed by Justice Vikram Nath and including Justices Sanjay Kumar and N.V. Anjaria, specifically addressed concerns that holding the examination in two shifts created "arbitrariness." This order followed a plea challenging the NBEMS's initial plan for a two-shift exam.
In its official notice, NBEMS stated the postponement is necessary "to arrange for more Test Centres and required infrastructure" to facilitate the single-shift format. While the delay has brought some relief to anxious candidates, many have taken to social media urging NBEMS to announce the fresh exam date soon.
Dr. Rohan Krishnan, National Chief Patron, FAIMA, welcomed the announcement, reiterating the importance of a single-shift exam. He expressed regret that medical associations had to resort to legal action to achieve this outcome, stating, "If they had heard our plea earlier, this situation would not have occurred. The exam would have been conducted on time. Now, we want them to announce the fresh date soon so that the students do not suffer and their preparations do not suffer."
The postponement was announced on the day the board was slated to release the exam city intimation slips for NEET PG 2025. The new exam date will be announced soon, so check the official NBEMS website regularly for updates.
