NEET PG examination typically attracts over 2 lakh medical graduates each year. Recent data shows 2,28,540 candidates registered for 2024 exam, while 2,06,541 aspirants appeared in 2023.

India's Supreme Court has ruled that NEET PG 2025 will now be conducted in one single shift, canceling the earlier two-shift plan. This major decision ensures equal testing conditions for all medical aspirants across the country.
The bench highlighted that administering exams across multiple shifts could result in variations in question difficulty, creating an uneven exam field for aspirants. "For an examination of such national importance, standardized conditions are non-negotiable," the Court observed, stressing that arbitrary differences in testing conditions compromise fairness.
The verdict follows petitions arguing that NEET PG has historically been a single-shift, single-day test, ensuring equal assessment of parameters for all candidates. The Court agreed, noting that the existing format minimizes logistical discrepancies and maintains transparency.
As Supreme Court ordered, now NEET PG 2025 will proceed as one single-shift examination on June 15, 2025. The decision has been welcomed by medical aspirants and coaching institutes.
The Supreme Court's intervention underscores its commitment to fairness in education, ensuring that all candidates face the same challenges under identical conditions. Authorities are expected to release revised guidelines shortly to comply with the directive.
What Changes will NBE Implement for NEET PG 2025 Logistics After Supreme Court's Decision?
The Supreme Court has ordered NEET PG 2025 to be conducted in one shift. Now, the National Board of Examinations must redesign all exam logistics to make sure everything works smoothly for all candidates taking the test at the same time:
- Securing larger examination venues to seat all aspirants simultaneously
- Mobilizing additional invigilators and staff for smooth conduct
- Strengthening digital infrastructure to prevent technical disruptions
- The National Board of Examinations will synchronize procedures across all test centres countrywide to maintain consistent examination standards.
When Will NEET PG 2025 Be Conducted?
NEET PG 2025 examination is set to be scheduled as a single-shift test on June 15, 2025, as mandated by the Supreme Court. With the revised schedule now confirmed, registered candidates can expect their NEET PG 2025 hall ticket to be issued shortly on official NBEMS website natboard.edu.in.
