JEE Main 2025 Session 2 Dates in Debate: Clashes with CBSE Class 12 Exam, Can it Postpone?

JEE Main 2025 Session 2, from April 2 to 9, overlaps with some CBSE Class 12 board exams, specifically languages, home science, and psychology.

Kolkata: JEE Main 2025 Session 2 will overlap with the CBSE Class 12 board exams. NTA will hold JEE Main on April 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9. Although core science subjects are not directly affected, language papers, home science, and psychology exams coincide with these JEE Main dates.

On April 2, CBSE will conduct language exams in various languages, including Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Malayalam, Odia, Assamese, and Kannada. Home science and psychology exams are scheduled for April 3 and 4, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

CBSE has affirmed it considered entrance exam schedules, including JEE Main, when finalizing the CBSE Class 12 dates to minimize conflicts. "The date of conduct of entrance examinations meant for the students of Class 12 have been taken into consideration and efforts have been made to complete the examinations much before the entrance examinations," CBSE stated upon releasing the 2025 official datesheets.

JEE Main is essential for admission to NITs, IITs, and other engineering colleges. The 2025 exam is administered in two sessions, January and April. In the January session, 1,311,544 candidates registered for Paper 1 which is B.E/B.Tech. This year, over 1.788 million students are taking Class 12 exams across 120 subjects. CBSE Class 12^th examinations will end on April 4, 2025.
