UPTAC Counselling 2025: Choice Filling, Important Dates, Seat Allotment, Selection Procedure

The choice filling process for UPTAC 2025 B.Tech counselling, conducted by AKTU, is scheduled to begin on July 24, 2025. The choice filling link will be provided on the official website at uptac.admissions.nic.in. To take part in UPTAC 2025 counselling, candidates must have qualified in entrance exams such as CUET UG, NATA, or JEE Mains Exams, depending on the course they’re applying for. The updated schedule for UPTAC 2025 counselling has been published online by the responsible authority. The UPTAC 2025 application form filling process was scheduled between May 27, 2025, to July 15, 2025. If a candidate chose AKTU while filling out their CUET UG or PG application form, they’re eligible to join the UPTAC 2025 counselling through the CUET exam.

Here is the UPTAC 2025 counselling procedure discussed below:

• Registration: Candidates are required to register for counselling by visiting the official website at uptac.admissions.nic.in. After completing the registration, upload the required details and payment counselling fee of INR 1,000.
• Choice Filling: To reach the choice filling section for UPTAC counselling, candidates need to log in to the official website using their registered ID and password. Choose your preferred college and course from the given options.
• Seat Allotment: The seat allotment result will be released online at the official website. Candidates may check their seat allotment status by logging into their account on the official UPTAC counselling website.
• Seat Acceptance and Fee payment: After seat allotment, candidates can choose to Freeze their allotted seat or opt for the Float option to wait for a better preference in subsequent rounds. Candidates confirming their seat must pay a seat acceptance fee of INR 20,000 if they belong to the General or OBC category, and INR 12,000 if they fall under the SC or ST category. After completing the payment, seat allotment information will be generated. If you accept the seat allotment, then you must pay the admission fees within the given time.
• Online Willingness: If the candidate is not satisfied with the seat allotment, they will have the following options: Freeze, Float, and Withdrawal. If a candidate chooses the “Freeze” option, it indicates they’ve accepted the allotted seat and won’t take part in any subsequent rounds of seat allocation. By selecting the “Float” option, candidates can keep their allocated seats and also able to participate in the further rounds. Choosing the “Withdrawal” option allows candidates to opt out of the counselling process and cancel their participation.
• Reporting to the Allotted College: After paying the seat acceptance fee, candidates have to report to the allotted institute within the given date. Make sure to bring all the necessary documents needed for verification and complete the admission process.

Rules & Regulations for UPTAC Counselling 2025

These are some general guidelines and specific rules for the UPTAC counselling procedure:

• Academic Eligibility: To be eligible, candidates must have completed Class 12 with a minimum overall score of 45%. For SC/ST candidates, the required score is 40%. Physics and Mathematics must be compulsory subjects, along with one subject from Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or a Technical Vocational stream.
• Exam Passed: Candidates must have cleared the JEE Main Entrance Exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
• Age Limit: There is no age limit for candidates participating in UPTAC counselling 2025.
• Domicile: Candidates who have passed their qualifying exam within Uttar Pradesh are required to submit their parents’ domicile certificate during both registration and physical reporting stages of the UPTAC counselling process.
• Fees: For the UPTAC counselling 2025 registration, there is a fee of INR 1000. The counselling fee is not refunded (except for withdrawal from counselling), even if the candidate does not report to the allotted institute.

Seat allocation will be determined by a candidate’s merit rank, the preferences submitted during choice filling, and the availability of seats at the time of counselling. 20% of the seats are available for admission in the first year in all courses in institutions affiliated with the AKTU without reservation. Seats will be allocated according to candidates' performance in the relevant entrance examination.
