TANCET Score Calculation
TANCET score calculation involves three key scores:
- Raw Score (Actual marks scored by the candidate)
- Normalized Score (Score adjusted based on overall exam difficulty)
- Percentile Score (Relative performance compared to other candidates)
Check the score formals presented in the following section:
Raw Score Formula:
Raw Score = (Number of Correct Answers x 1) - (Number of Incorrect Answers x 1/3)
Example:
If a candidate answers 75 questions correctly and 15 incorrectly:
Raw Score = (75 x 1) (15x1/3) = 75-5 = 70
Normalized Score Formula:
Normalized Score = 40 + (10x (Raw Score-Mean)/Standard Deviation)
Where:
- Mean: Average raw score of all candidates in that session.
- Standard Deviation (SD): Measure of score dispersion in that session.
Percentile Score Formula:
Percentile Score = (Y/N) x 100
Where:
- Y: Number of candidates who scored less than the candidate.
- N: Total number of candidates who appeared for the exam.
