Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai was started by Dr. Jeppiaar in 1987. They provide knowledge in the fields of Engineering, Science, Technology and Education to the student. This institute achieved the status of Deemed University on 16th July 2001, for its contribution to the field of Technical education for over two decades. Sathyabama University offers around 27 Undergraduate programs and 41 Postgraduate programs in all disciplines.

This institute has excellent infrastructure facilities such as a Library, Laboratories, Internet and other general amenities. Sathyabama University wrote a special page on the history of space research on 22nd June 2016, with the launch of “SATHYABAMASAT” associated with the ISRO. It is one of the top 31 deemed to be universities by the Times Higher Education Ranking. Sathyabama University is the 2nd among private universities in Tamil Nadu by National Institute Ranking Framework.

Sathyabama University offers UG, PG, BDS and MDS courses to the students. This institute was started with the aim of taking the Technical education standard of this country to the next level.
