The NMMC's Social Development Department has started accepting applications for the 2025-26 annual educational scholarship. It aimed at economically underprivileged kids in Navi Mumbai from Class 1 through college.

NMMC Scholarship Scheme For 2025-26: What is the Eligibility Criteria?

All the eligibilities the students need to get the NMMC 2025-26 scholarship are given below:

  • Residency: Beneficiaries must have resided in the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation area for at least 3 years.
  • Academic Performance (General Economically Weaker Sections): Students must have secured at least 65% marks in their previous year's annual examination.
  • Academic Performance (Backward Class Students): Backward class students must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in their previous year's examination.
  • Other Categories: There are no specific mark requirements for other eligible categories.
  • Family Income: For students from economically weaker sections, the annual family income must be within 8 lakhs, as per an income certificate from the Hon'ble Tehsildar Thane.
  • Bank Account:
    1. It is mandatory for students to have an Aadhaar-linked account with a nationalized bank.
    2. The bank account must be in the student's name and located within the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation area.
    3. The account must be KYC compliant and regularly updated. Sukanya Samriddhi accounts are not accepted.
  • Exclusions:
    1. Students admitted under the Right to Education (RTE) cannot avail of this scholarship.
    2. Students studying in Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation Schools (Class 1st to 10th) are not eligible.
    3. Only two children from a single family can avail of this scholarship.
