IIFT Delhi offers various scholarships to support students financially, recognizing both merit and need. These scholarships are available across Full-Time/Regular degree courses, including MBA (IB), MBA (BA), MA (Economics), and PhD. Some of the top scholarships are the Need-Based Scholarship Scheme, Merit-Based Scholarship, and Exim Bank Scholarship.

IIFT Delhi Scholarship Details

The details about the scholarships at IIFT Delhi are given below:

New Scholarship Scheme (NSS)

The New Scholarship Scheme provides financial assistance to 10% of students, covering 20% of the tuition fee for all Full-Time/Regular degree courses offered by IIFT Delhi. The detail of the scheme is detailed below:

  • Eligibility: Awarded to 10% of students in Full-Time/Regular programs (MBA IB, MBA BA, MA Economics, IPM).
  • Scholarship Amount: 20% of tuition fee.
  • Selection Criteria: Based on "means-cum-merit", with 70% weightage to financial need and 30% to academic performance (CGPA after completion).
  • Income Requirement: Family income must be below INR 8 LPA, subject to revision.
  • Disbursement: Given after program completion—MBA (IB, BA, MA Eco.) students receive it post-degree, while IPM students get it after BBA & MBA completion.
  • Exclusions: Students receiving an equal or higher scholarship from other sources are not eligible; if lower, the balance amount may be granted.
  • Approval Process: A committee of faculty and student representatives will evaluate and finalize eligible students. The criterion for evaluation is given in the table below.

Note: If the number of eligible students exceeds the available scholarships in a batch, the scholarships will be awarded to students with the highest scores.

Scholarships by the Government of India

The Government of India provides various central and state-level scholarships, and the details are available on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Currently, the following central scholarships are available for IIFT students via the NSP portal:

  • Central Sector Scholarship of Top-Class Education: For SC students, offered by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, based on parental income.
  • Central Sector Scholarship for Higher Education: For ST students, offered by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, based on parental income.
  • Top Class Education Scholarship for Students with Benchmark Disabilities: Offered by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities for students with disabilities.
  • Merit-cum-Means Based Scholarship: For students from minority communities, offered by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, based on parental income.
  • Central Sector Scholarship Scheme of Top-Class Education in College: For OBC and other students, offered by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, based on parental income.

Exim Bank Scholarship

The Exim Bank Scholarship is awarded to the top-performing SC/ST student at IIFT. The amount covers tuition fees for the first year of the two-year Full-Time MBA (International Business) program, with a maximum limit of INR 3.5 lakh.

OPJEMS Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to first year and second-year MBA (IB) students at IIFT Delhi.

 Eligibility

  • Top 10 first-year students (based on cumulative selection process scores).
  • Top 10 second-year students (based on GPA from the previous academic year).

 Selection Process: Nominees take an online test and interview conducted by the OP Jindal Group.

Scholarship Amount: INR 1.50 lakh for selected students.

IIFT Delhi PhD Fellowship

The PhD fellowship at IIFT Delhi is given below:

  • INR 37,000 per month + HRA for the first two years.
  • INR 42,000 per month + HRA for the remaining three years (subject to academic performance review).

 Performance Review: Scholarship continuation in the second phase requires half-yearly evaluations of academic performance.
