Candidates who appeared for the UGC-NET 2026 June session, are able to access the provisional answer key from the official website; ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The answer key challenge portal remains active from August 16 until 11:59 PM on August 18, 2026.Complete the submissions and pay the processing fee online before the deadline. To raise an objection, candidates must log in to the official portal with their application details, select the disputed questions, and submit valid justifications along with the required processing fee.
Following the review of all representations by a panel of subject experts, NTA will make any necessary revisions and release the final answer key. The UGC NET 2026 results and scorecards will be declared concurrently based on these verified answer keys.
How to View and Challenge UGC NET 2026 Provisional Answer Key?
Here are the steps for viewing the UGC NET 2026 answer key and raising challenges against it:
- Step 1: Go to ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
- Step 2: Click on the "View / Challenge Answer Key" link on the homepage. Sign in using your Application Number and Date of Birth or Password.
- Step 3: Access your subject-wise question paper, recorded responses, and provisional answer key. Save or print a copy for reference.
- Step 4: If you spot any discrepancy, navigate to the challenge tab, select the Question ID(s) you wish to dispute, and choose your claimed option ID.
- Step 5: Attach clear supporting evidence in PDF format. Pay the non-refundable processing fee of INR 200 per challenged question via net banking, UPI, or debit/credit card.
- Step 6: Submit your challenge and download the payment receipt along with the objection summary for future records.

Re-Exam for UGC-NET (June) 2026 English, Commerce, and Sociology
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will re-conduct the UGC-NET June 2026 examination for English, Commerce, and Sociology after an inquiry committee verified widespread factual, translation, and technical errors, alongside repeated questions from past papers. To maintain examination fairness, the re-tests are scheduled for September 9, 2026 (English in Shift 1; Commerce in Shift 2) and September 10, 2026 (Sociology in Shift 1), with no additional fees charged to affected candidates and exam centers to be notified separately. Meanwhile, result processing, JRF seat allocations, and e-certificates for the remaining 84 subjects will proceed on schedule without delay, ensuring that qualification quotas for the three re-conducted subjects are preserved and protected from any reduction following the re-test.
