The RRB Group D Computer-Based Test (CBT), originally scheduled from November 17 to December 31, 2025 has been temporarily halted. The official exam dates now contingent upon a court verdict.

The exam postponement is directly linked to a pending High Court case, a contempt petition identified as CONT.CAS(C) – 1415/2025. This legal challenge centers on a dispute over whether a Class 10th certificate is sufficient for RRB Group D positions or if an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) should be mandatory.

The Delhi High Court has directed the RRBs not to proceed with the exam until the CAT reaches a final decision. The important hearing for that case is set for October 30, 2025, before the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), to resolve a crucial legal dispute concerning eligibility criteria.

Hearing on 30th October
With the next hearing scheduled for this week, the outcome is highly anticipated by over 10.8 million applicants. The CAT's verdict will ultimately determine the eligibility criteria and pave the way for the recruitment process to resume. Depending on the decision, the exam may proceed as initially planned or be further delayed.

Wait for Official Announcements Rather than Believing Unofficial Predictions
The RRB has emphasized that the exam could be postponed, not canceled. A revised exam schedule will be formally announced on the official RRB websites only after the court proceedings are concluded. Rely solely on official RRB announcements for updates, disregarding any unofficial or viral posts.

Revision Strategies for RRB Group D 2025 Exam

Don't get caught up in any false announcement, instead stay calm and use this time for your prepetition. The tips are given here:

  • Continue with your regular practice. For General Science focus on Class 10th NCERT concepts; especially Force, Electricity, Chemical Reactions, and Human Diseases, in Mathematics give attention to the high-scoring areas, note key current events from the last 6-12 months for A. & Current Affairs and Practice Reasoning more.
  • Solve Mock Tests Regularly within the 90-minute limit to analyze your weakest topics.
  • Consistent Revision: Employ Spaced Repetition (revisiting topics at planned intervals) to achieve concept clarity and long-term retention.
  • Maintain a fixed routine to revise easily forgettable, high-value items, such as Formulas, Shortcuts, and Static G.K. Facts.

The RRB Group D 2025 CEN-08/2024 recruitment for various Level-1 posts (such as Track Maintainer, Helper, and Assistant) involves a CBT, a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination.
