Structural Revisions: Reduced MCQ Count for NEET PG 2026

The most significant change for the 2026 cycle is the reduction in total question volume. You will now face 180 MCQs, down from the previous 200-question format. Despite this adjustment, the integrity of the marking scheme remains intact:

  • Correct Response: +4 Marks
  • Incorrect Response: -1 Mark
  • Unattempted: 0 Marks

New State-Preference Protocol for NEET PG Center Allotment

Moving away from the traditional city-based selection, a state-preference model has been introduced. During the registration process, you are required to select three preferred test states. Your first preference must correspond to the state indicated in your formal application, ensuring better administrative alignment. NBEMS has clarified that the allocation of test centers will not follow a "first-come, first-served" policy, emphasizing that early submission does not guarantee preferential allotment.
