What is the Major Change in JEE Main 2026 Registration Process?
NTA has introduced a major change in JEE Main 2026 registration process by integrating an auto-fetch feature through Aadhaar authentication. This feature will automatically retrieve key candidate details such as name, date of birth, gender, photograph, and address directly from UIDAI database. The aim is to simplify the application process and minimize errors in personal information.
You just need to manually enter specific details like your father’s or mother’s name, as these are not stored in Aadhaar records. In case of a name mismatch between the Aadhaar card and the class 10 marksheet, you will be given an option to make corrections.
To address concerns, especially for applicants with outdated documents, NTA assured that it is working to increase the number of exam cities for wider accessibility. The agency also emphasized its commitment to meeting the needs of PwD/PwBD candidates appearing for JEE Main exam 2026.
