Determining Factors for CLAT PG Cutoff 2026

CLAT PG cutoff is not the same every year. It varies depending on a few important factors. These factors help in determining whether the cutoff will be higher or lower in a particular year.

 Some main factors on which the cutoff decided are given below:

  • Number of candidates: When a lot of students appear for the exam, the competition increases. As a result, the cutoff may also increase.
  • Level of difficulty of the exam: If the exam paper is tough, fewer students score high marks, and the cutoff may be lower. If the paper is easy, the cutoff is usually higher.
  • Availability of seats: The total number of seats in the participating NLUs also affects the cutoff. When seats are limited, the cutoff is likely to be higher.
  • Reservation category: The cutoff varies in different categories (like SC, ST, OBC, etc.) depending on how many candidates apply and how well they perform.
  • Previous year cutoff trends: The consortium often determines the current cutoff by looking at the previous year's cutoff.
  • Changes in the answer key: If any revisions are made to the answer key after the challenge, it may affect the final marks and consequently, the cutoff.
