Frequently Asked Questions
Ans: It depends on your interests and career goals. If you like subjects like history, political science or sociology, then BA LLB is more suitable. If you are interested in business, management or corporate law, then BBA LLB is more suitable for you. Both the degrees are equally valid in the field of law, but your background and career interest will guide your choice.
Ans: Yes, you can. SLAT allows you to apply for multiple law schools, but you have to pay the program registration fee separately for each. Many students apply for SLS Pune and SLS Noida together to keep more options open after the results. Tick the correct colleges while registering and pay the correct amount to avoid rejection.
Ans: If you notice any errors on your admit card, don't ignore it. Log in to your SLAT account immediately and ask a question using the "Raise a Ticket" option. Attach a screenshot and your registration details. Usually, such issues are fixed within a few working days. Never go to the test center with incorrect information - this can cause problems during verification.
Ans: Accuracy in SLAT comes from smart reading without rushing. Practice section tests daily - especially Logical and Analytical Reasoning - with a timer. After each test, review only your incorrect answers and find out why you got them wrong. This method strengthens pattern recognition. Remember, one correct answer is worth more than three random guesses, although there is no negative marking.
Ans: Not impossible. SLAT is just a part of the process. Personal Interview (PI) and Written Aptitude Test (WAT) carry significant importance. Despite good scores, poor performance in these rounds can lower your overall rank. Prepare by reading about current legal issues and practicing writing short essays. Confidence and clarity during the interview can make a huge difference.
Ans: Focus only on the major national and international news of the last 6-8 months. Use monthly current affairs PDFs or apps that give short summaries. Avoid memorizing long lists - instead, understand the background of important events like court judgments, government plans or global conferences. This helps you answer logically, even if the question is a bit distorted.
Ans: Legal reasoning in SLAT is not about memorizing the laws - it is about applying logic. Read the passage carefully, identify the main legal rule and then match it with the correct conclusion. Avoid emotional or moral choices - follow what the rule says. Practicing 5-10 legal passages daily from mock tests helps in identifying the type of examiner and increases accuracy.
