What's Next After JEE Main 2026 Result? Check State-Wise B.Tech Admission Details

Choosing the right engineering college depends on knowing how each state handles its admissions. While many states now use JEE Main scores for their counseling, some still look at Class 12 marks or hold their own special entrance tests. Understand these specific counseling authorities and their selection requirements.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) releases the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 results on April 20 at the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. You can access scorecards by logging in with your JEE MAIN application number and password to review critical details such as the JEE Advanced qualifying cutoff, All India Ranks (AIR), and category-specific rankings.

Once the results are out, students generally follow one of three paths. Those in the top 2.5 lakh who meet the qualifying cutoff can register for JEE Advanced 2026 starting April 23, those who do not qualify for Advanced can participate in JoSAA counseling beginning June 2 for seats in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs, and others may choose to apply for various state-level counseling programs using their JEE Main scores.
