NMMS OPT 2025-26

The Face Authorization, Aadhaar Link process for the NMMS 2025-26 scholarship application process is given below:

Why OTR the New 14-Digit Permanent ID is Mandatory?

The One-Time Registration (OTR) process is a mandatory step for applying via the National Scholarship Portal. This step is crucial for assigning a permanent, unique 14-digit ID to the applicant, standardizing the student identity across various government scholarship schemes.

NSP OTR: Mandatory Aadhaar Face Authentication Process

  1. Click the "Login" button under the OTR option. New users must select "New User and Register yourself."
  2. Read the on-screen instructions to check the confirmation box below and click "Next."
  3. Enter a valid mobile number and the captcha, then submit the OTP
  4. Complete your personal details and click "Save & Register" to finish the OTR process.

Critical Check: Ensuring Aadhaar-DBT Linkage for Fund Disbursement

Since funds are disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), it is critical that the student's bank account is linked to their Aadhaar card. Any mismatch or lack of linkage will prevent the successful transfer of scholarship funds.

Final Application Steps

  • After successful OTR, navigate to the "Apply for Scholarship" option and click "Login."
  • Select the NMMS scholarship, fill out all necessary information, and upload the required documents.

Troubleshooting Common Errors: NSP Login and Application Fixes

  • Ensure the name, date of birth, and other details exactly match the Aadhaar record.
  • Verify that the bank account is successfully linked to the Aadhaar for DBT transfer.
  • Ensure all uploaded documents are clear, legible and adhere to the specified file size/format.

Final Verification Status

The application status will be updated on the NSP dashboard. Students must regularly check the portal for:

  • Institute Level Verification Status
  • District/State Level Verification Status
  • Payment Processing Status

Students should strictly adhere to the application and verification deadlines as specified on the NSP for the 2025-26 academic year to avoid rejection.
