West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has today announced the results for the inaugural West Bengal Higher Secondary (HS) third semester examinations. A pass percentage of 93.72% is reported. You can check the scores on the official websites at wbchse.wb.gov.in or result.wb.gov.in.
The top position was shared by two male students from Purulia, Pritam Ballav and Aditya Narayan Jana, who scored 98.97 per cent. A total of 69 students secured spots in the top 10 ranks, though only three of them are girls. The council’s chairperson noted that while the Board was confident of publishing the results by October 31 despite anticipated scanning delays and festival holidays, they will not distribute printed marksheets; students must collect them from their respective schools.
In terms of district performance, North 24 Parganas achieved the highest pass percentage at 96.70%. Carefully verify all the details mentioned on the marksheet, such as your name, roll number, subject codes and marks obtained, against their official records at the time of collection.

This new, semester-based system replaces the annual format with the last annual exam having been held in March. The new exam pattern uses different question types in each semester to balance skills. In semesters 1 and 3, students will answer Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) to improve their reasoning and analytical thinking. In semesters 2 and 4, they will write Short Answer Questions (SAQs) and Development Quotient (DQ) answers to build and maintain their writing skills.
