NTA has issued a crucial notification concerning the UGC NET exam date. The examination serves three purposes: Junior Assistant Professor, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and PhD admission. Check out the official dates and details below.
UGC NET 2025 exam for the December cycle which will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) is scheduled to take place across the country from December 31, 2025 - January 7, 2026. The official notice was released on the official website: ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
The online registration process for the NTA UGC NET December began on October 7 and will conclude on November 7, 2025. Following the application deadline, the correction window will be accessible to candidates from November 10 to 12, 2025.
The subject-wise examination schedule has not yet been released. The official Information bulletin has been released and a previous advisory from NTA strictly suggests updating your Identity proofs.

UGC NET Exam Pattern
The UGC NET consists of two separate papers; Paper I and II comprise objective-type, MCQs. You must complete the full 3 hour examination without any break. All questions are compulsory. Check the pattern overview:

The UGC NET question paper will be available in English and Hindi only. Each question is worth 2 marks and there is no negative marking for incorrect responses.

How to Apply for UGC NET 2025 (Dec)?

- Visit, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
- Click UGC-NET December 2025 registration link.
- Log in and fill out the application form and upload required documents.
- Pay the fee online, review the form, and submit it.
- Download and print the Confirmation Page.

UGC NET December 2025 session Exam City Intimation Slip, which only informs you of the exam-city location, will be released 10 days prior to the commencement (expected in the third or fourth week of December 2025).
Following this official Admit Card, containing the exact venue, date, and shift timing, is issued three to four days before the exam (expected on last week of December 2025).
