Latest Updates: The online registration process started on January 22 and will remain open until February 11, 2025, on upsconline.nic.in. Candidates can also make changes to their application forms between February 12 and February 18.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the Civil Services Examination (CSE) and Indian Forest Service Exam (IFS) dates. The notification was published on January 22, 2025, on the official website, upsc.gov.in. This year, a total of 1129 vacancies are available, with 979 for CSE and 150 for IFS.
This year, the UPSC surprised candidates by releasing the Civil Services Exam (CSE) notification in January, earlier than the usual February schedule. Last year, the UPSC announced 1,056 vacancies for CSE and 150 for Indian Forest Service (IFoS), which got reduced in 2025.
The interview process for CSE 2024 is ongoing and will conclude in April. For 2025, the UPSC CSE prelims exam is set for May 25, 2025. Candidates who clear the prelims by scoring above the cut-off will qualify for the mains, which will be descriptive and conducted over five days starting August 22, 2025. UPSC CSE 2025 Registration Process
The steps for UPSC CSE 2025 registration process are given below:

UPSC released its revised annual calendar for the 2025 exams on November 7, 2025, on its official website. The calendar includes the exam dates for both the UPSC CSE Prelims and Mains. UPSC CSE 2025 Prelims Marking Scheme
The GS paper will have 100 questions, each worth 2 marks. For every incorrect answer, 1/3rd of a mark (0.66) will be deducted as a penalty. The CSAT paper will include 80 questions, each carrying 2.5 marks, with a negative marking of 1/3rd (0.83 marks) for every wrong answer.
UPSC CSE 2025 Mains Marking Scheme
The marking scheme consists of two qualifying papers: Paper 1 (Language Paper) and Paper 2 (English Language), each worth 300 marks. You must score at least 25% in each of these papers to pass.
