NIMCET 2025 is a national-level entrance examination organized by various National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and select Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) for admission to their Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programs. For the academic year 2025–26, admissions to MCA programs offered by 11 NITs—including Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Delhi, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Meghalaya, Patna, Raipur, Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), and Warangal, as well as IIIT Vadodara and IIIT Bhopal, will be based solely on NIMCET 2025 ranks.

The exam will be held in computer-based mode on June 8, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at designated centres across India. The results, including scores and ranks, will be declared on June 27, 2025. You will be eligible to participate in the NIMCET 2025 counselling and seat allotment process only if you successfully qualify for the entrance exam.

NIMCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

You must meet the NIMCET 2025 eligibility criteria to be able to apply for the exam. Check the details of eligibility criteria in below section:

Nationality

Applicants must be Indian nationals.

Educational Qualifications

Candidates should have either:
- A full-time Bachelor's degree of at least three years duration (e.g., B.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons), BCA, BIT) with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects,
- Or a B.E./B.Tech. degree from a recognized University/Institution.
For General and OBC candidates: a minimum of 60% marks or a 6.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale.
For SC/ST/PwD candidates: a minimum of 55% marks or a 6.0 CGPA on a 10-point scale.
Note: Conversion between CGPA and percentage is not permitted. If the CGPA is awarded on a scale other than 10, it will be converted to a 10-point scale using the unitary method.

Candidates Appearing for Final Year Exams

Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination in 2025 are also eligible to apply.
Such candidates must provide proof of passing the qualifying examination by September 30, 2025.

Open University Candidates

Candidates who have completed or are completing a Bachelor's degree of at least three years duration with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects from Open Universities are also eligible, provided the program is approved by UGC/AICTE and the Distance Education Council (DEC) of the Government of India.

Age Limit

There is no age limit to appear for NIMCET 2025.

NIMCET 2025 Registration and Application

You need to complete the application process online through the official NIMCET portal. Below are the key steps of NIMCET 2025 Registration and application process:

Step 1: Online Registration

Visit the official NIMCET 2025 website at nimcet.admissions.nic.in.
Click on the registration link and create a new user account using a valid email ID and mobile number.
A verification email will be sent to your registered email ID. Confirm your registration through the link provided.

Step 2: Login and Fill Application Form

Log in using your credentials and start filling out the application form.
Enter personal information, academic qualifications, and communication details.
Choose your preferred NIMCET exam centre from the list provided.

Step 3: Upload Documents

Upload scanned copies of the following documents in the specified format and size:
- Recent passport-size photograph
- Signature
- Proof of identity (e.g., Aadhaar card)
- Category certificate (if applicable)
- Mark sheets of qualifying examinations

Step 4: Payment of Application Fee

Ans: Yes, NIMCET 2025 includes negative marking. For every incorrect answer, one-fourth (¼) of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted from the total score. This means that for each wrong response, 1 mark will be subtracted, since each correct answer in NIMCET carries 4 marks.
