Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering is a four - year Undergraduate Engineering course that offers studies in the subjects such as Planning, Construction and Building Materials. Students after completing the degree can work in the sectors like design, planning, constructions structures like canals, bridges, roads, buildings etc. Transportation engineering, Geotechnical engineering, Environmental engineering, Structural engineering and Infrastructure engineering. 

The seven fields of B.Tech in Civil Engineering are : Environmental Engineering, Earthquake Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Municipal and Urban Engineering. Moreover, Students with 50% scores, which is 40% for the SC/ ST/ PwD categories with the subjects Chemistry/ Biology, Physics and Mathematics can apply to the top B.Tech Civil Engineering institutes based on the JEE Advanced and JEE Main marks. Also, Some state colleges also conduct the entrance exams for the admission to B.Tech in Civil Engineering. 

After completing the course, Graduates can join any top organization as a civil engineer with the average salary of INR 4 to 5 LPA. The average course fee is INR 2,00,000 to INR 6,00,000. The average placement recorded in VIT Vellore, IITs and in NITs is from INR 3.5 to 5 lakhs.
