Top 10 Engineering Colleges in Maharashtra Accepting MHT-CET Score 2026

Ans: MHT CET cutoffs fluctuate annually based on exam difficulty, applicant numbers, and seat availability, and they vary across engineering branches and candidate categories. Generally, a score above 120+ (around 92+ percentile) is considered good for top colleges like COEP and VJTI. However, highly demanded branches like Computer Science Engineering often have significantly higher cutoffs (e.g., ranks within the top few thousand). For specific college and branch cutoffs, refer to the official CAP lists released by the Maharashtra CET Cell after each counselling round. Expected 2025 cutoffs for the general category (GOPENS) suggest COEP Pune might have a CSE rank around 7,500 and Mechanical around 45,000, while VJTI Mumbai's CSE cutoff might be around 9,500 rank.

Ans: Yes, the general eligibility criteria for MHT CET 2025 require candidates to have passed their 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate. For reserved categories (belonging to Maharashtra State), the minimum percentage is 40%

Ans: MHT CET score is the primary criterion for admission to the BTech programs in these top 10 engineering colleges for Maharashtra state candidates.

Ans: The NIRF ranking, by the Indian government, assesses higher education institutions based on Teaching, TLR, RP, GO, OI, and PR.

Ans: To get admitted, candidates must: appear for MHT CET, register for CAP, fill out online preferences for colleges and BTech branches, receive seat allotment based on rank/category/options, and complete document verification for admission confirmation.

Ans: Yes, as per the rules of the Government of Maharashtra, there are reservation criteria for various categories such as SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PWD, etc.

Ans: College fees differ significantly based on their type (government-aided, private, autonomous). Government-aided colleges like VJTI and COEP typically have lower annual fees (INR 60000 – INR 1.42 Lakh), while private colleges such as SPIT, DJ Sanghvi, and KJSIT generally have higher annual fees (INR 1.96 Lakh – INR 5.04 Lakh+).

Ans: These colleges offer a wide range of BTech specializations, including:

• Computer Science Engineering (CSE)
• Information Technology (IT)
• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ECE)
• Civil Engineering
• Chemical Engineering
• Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML)
