IIT Madras starts the online application portal for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2027) on August 27, 2026. Complete the enrollment on the GOAPS portal via gate2027.iitm.ac.in who are planning to appear for the test. Don't forget to check needed documents before you start the registration. The GATE examination will be conducted across multiple sessions on February 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21 in the year 2027, featuring morning and afternoon test slots. To ensure a smooth registration, assemble your credentials and digital copies of required files beforehand. Mandatory uploads include: a clear digital photograph, official signature, government-issued identity proof, and relevant caste or disability certificates (SC/ST/PwD/dyslexic) where applicable. Identity authentication via DigiLocker account linking must also be completed during application submission.
The fee structure depends on the submission timeline and candidate category. During the primary registration phase (August 27 – September 27, 2026), female, SC, ST, and PwD applicants must pay ₹1,000 per paper, while all other candidates pay ₹2,000. Submissions made within the late extension window (September 27 – October 5, 2026) will incur an additional fee, raising charges to ₹1,500 for reserved/female categories and ₹2,500 for general/international candidates.
