National Testing Agency (NTA) is closing the online application portal for the UGC NET December 2025 examination today, November 7, 2025, at 11:50 PM. This is the final registration deadline to qualify for Assistant Professor posts and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian institutions.

Submit your application and remit the required application fee (payable via Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking or UPI) through the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in. For those who need to modify their submitted forms, the NTA will open a UGC NET form correction window from November 10 to 12, 2025.

The UGC-NET exam, tests eligibility for academic roles across 85 subjects, will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT). However, NTA has yet to announce the specific dates for the advance exam city intimation slip, the release of admit cards, the examination schedule and the display of provisional answer keys and recorded responses.

Documents and Details Required Before Applying

Before starting the application, ensure you have the following ready:

A valid personal email ID and mobile number.
Aadhaar card number, Passport number, Voter ID, or other valid government ID proof.
Board/University certificates for personal details (Name, Mother's Name, Father's Name, Date of Birth).
Qualifying Degree Certificate/Provisional Certificate/Mark sheets.
Category certificate (if applicable: SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS) in the central government format.
PwD certificate (if applicable).
Scanned passport-size photograph (JPG/JPEG format, size 10 KB to 200 KB).
Scanned signature (JPG/JPEG format, size 4 KB to 30 KB).
Four choices of exam cities in order of preference.

Application Process and Fee

Step 1: Go to the official NTA UGC NET website: https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/.
Step 2: Click on the link for "Registration for UGC-NET DEC 2025" which will take you to the new registration page.
Step 3: Provide the required personal details (name, contact information, address, etc.) and create a password and security question.
Step 4: After successful registration, a unique Application Number will be generated and sent to your registered email ID and mobile number.
Step 5: Log in using your Application Number and password.
Step 6: Fill out the detailed application form, including educational and examination center choices.
Step 7: Upload the scanned images of your photograph and signature in the specified format and size.
Step 8: Pay the application fee online. The fee varies by category:
General/Unreserved: INR 1150
General-EWS/OBC-NCL: INR 600
SC/ST/PwD & Third Gender: INR 325
Step 9: After successful payment, the application process is complete. Download and print a copy of the final Confirmation Page for your records.
