For the KSET examination, candidates must meet the specific eligibility criteria. These are the eligibility criteria will need to be fulfilled :

  • Candidates must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in a Master’s degree or equivalent from an institute recognized by UGC. In the case of SC, ST, PWD, Transgender and OBC candidates, 50% marks are required.
     
  • Candidates who are pursuing a Master’s Degree can also apply for the KSET test. These candidates will be admitted provisionally.
     
  • Candidates have to appear for the KSET exam in their relevant subject of Post - graduation. If they do not find the subject of their PG in the list of KSET subjects, then they can appear in UGC - NET/ UGC - CSIR NET.
     
  • Ph.D holders who have completed the Master’s level examination by 19th September 1991 shall be eligible for a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks for the KSET.
     
  • Eligible candidates in previous KSET are not eligible to apply again for the same subject. If they reappear in the current KSET, then their candidature will be canceled and previous eligibility will be withdrawn.
