This mock allotment is a practice run. It helps engineering students see which college and branch they might get based on their rank and choices. It shows your chances across 138 top engineering colleges—including 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs, and 56 GFTIs—before the real, final seat allocation begins.

If you want to try for a better branch configuration or adjust your preferences based on this round's trend, ensure you update and save your choices on the portal before today June 9, at 5 PM to reflect updated placements in the upcoming Mock Round 2 on June 10.

Why You Must Review Your Mock Allotment Result?

The mock seat allocation is generated by running the official JoSAA allocation algorithm against your actual JEE Main or JEE Advanced ranks and your saved choices. It acts as an indicator rather than a final guarantee, offering two major strategic benefits:

  • Preference Ordering Evaluation: If you did not receive any allotment or were allocated a lower-preference option, it indicates that your top-tier choices have higher cutoffs than your current rank.
  • Strategic Rearrangement: You can freely add, rearrange, edit, or delete options from their choice list based on today's outcome.

JoSAA Mock Allotment Out: What’s Your Next Move?

Once you have checked your mock allocation on the dashboard, you should take the following strategic steps depending on your results:

If you are happy with your allotted JoSAA seat:

what’s your next move if you got your preference?

  • Review Your Choice Order: Double-check that all choices listed above your allotted seat are still programs you genuinely prefer. If you get a higher choice in the final round, you cannot reject it to get this mock seat back.
  • Lock it In or Refine: Keep your current choices as they are, or make only minor adjustments to fine-tune your list before the final deadline.

If you are not satisfied or did not get any seat:

Check these crucial steps to fix your choice list before it auto-locks:

  • Rearrange Your Preferences: Move your most desired colleges and branches higher up on your list. Make sure your dream options are strictly at the top.
  • Add Backup Options: Insert a few "safer" choices—colleges or branches with historically lower cutoff ranks—to ensure you do not end up without a seat in the actual rounds.
  • Delete Unwanted Options: Remove any colleges or engineering branches that you do not plan on joining, as the system will automatically lock your list soon.
