The application process for the CLAT 2026 starts on August 1, 2025 and is currently online. CLAT 2026 is a major national-level entrance exam for admission to UG and PG law programs in 24 NLUs, excluding NLU Delhi.

CLAT 2026 registration is underway till midnight today. Register on the official CLAT website: consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2026/, upload necessary documents and submit the fee by the deadline of November 7, 2025. The CLAT 2026 exam date is unchanged and scheduled for December 7.

The exam includes a total of 120 questions distributed across five sections, with a +1 mark for every correct answer and a negative 0.25 mark deduction for every incorrect answer. All admissions to the 5-year integrated L.L.B. and LL.M. programs for the 2026-2027 academic year will be based on the CLAT 2026 scores, which are also utilized by several affiliated institutions for admissions and recruitment. CLAT 2026 correction window is currently open. Edit the test location preferences listed in the application form. You can also use this opportunity to review and correct your Name, Date of Birth, Programme applied (UG/PG) and Reservations Eligibility, if necessary. This opportunity is available only until 11:59 P.M. on November 09, 2025. No requests for test location changes will be accepted after this deadline.

What is the Eligibility to Apply for CLAT 2026?

The eligibility criteria for CLAT 2026 contains no upper age limit for either the UG or PG exam. For the UG (5-year integrated law) program, candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% marks in their qualifying exam if they belong to the General category, or 40% if they are from the SC/ST category. For the PG (LL.M.) program, the minimum marks required in the qualifying law degree are 50% for the General category and 45% for the SC/ST category.

How to Submit the CLAT 2026 Application Form?

For CLAT 2026 registration use the step-by-step process below:

  • Step 1: Go to the official CLAT website; consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2026/ and create a new applicant account by providing your name, mobile number and email ID. Then select and confirm a password.
  • Step 2: Use your newly created credentials to log in to your applicant account to access the application form.
  • Step 3: Choose the “program of study” you are applying for:
  • 5-year LLB
  • one-year LLB (LLM/PG program)
  • Step 4: Complete all sections of the application form. You must select three centres in order of preference. Upload the required documents according to the specified sizes and formats:

  • Step 5: You must now provide your preferences for the National Law Universities (NLUs) you wish to attend.

  • Step 7: Complete the process by paying the specific application fee using an online mode (credit/debit card or net banking).

What is the CLAT 2026 Application Fee?

The CLAT 2026 Registration Fee is based on the candidate's category. To obtain the previous year's question papers an additional INR 500 must be paid along with the primary application fee. Check below:

CLAT 2026: Mock Test

The CLAT UG 2026 official mock tests by the Consortium of NLUs will be released online after the correction window event ends, about one month before the exam. The Consortium regularly releases five official mock tests with a two-hour time limit to help students prepare.
